OUR DISTILLERY JOURNEY

Claudia and Wendy's paths crossed in 2006 when they worked together for a large non-profit organization in the D.C area. Although they grew up in different countries, they shared many similar life experiences that made them sisters by fate.

Wendy's passion for home brewing and Claudia's passion for bringing people together, along with their entrepreneurial drive and support from their husbands, sparked the dream of opening a business where they could blend both passions.

When Claudia bought the farm, and established it as a wedding venue in 2020, they knew that the opportunity to make their dream a reality had arrived. So they decided to go big and stay home making spirits AND beer. 

The farm's breathtaking scenery and convenient location, only 20 mins from historic Winchester, VA, make it the perfect weekend getaway for spirits aficionados or those seeking a break from city life. 

Their background in art and science is the perfect blend for producing a well-crafted selection of Whiskey, Bourbon, and Vodka (flavored with the organic fruits of the farm). Part of their distillery's mission is partnering with local farmers in procuring the highest quality grains West Virginia offers. Sunset Distilling Co. has the distillery community's support, which has been integral to its present and future success.
